Cite Soleil is a large slum in Port-au-Prince where as many as 400,000 people live in extreme poverty. Regarded as one of the poorest neighborhoods in the Northern Hemisphere, Cite Soleil is a dark place full of corruption and violence.
There is a small school just across the street from Cite Soleil where we have been fortunate enough to get connected. 2013-2014 will be our fourth year sponsoring students there! We have seen firsthand the power of education in their lives. And it seems the need is greater than ever.
Sponsoring a child's education through Heartline is a great way to transform the life of a young person. Students not only receive two meals every school day, a uniform, books, a backpack and school supplies, but they gain routine, a schedule and learn responsibility.
Each sponsor chooses a student and receives pictures of their student and a letter during the year. To sponsor a student, the cost is $500 or $42 a month for one year. We respectfully request that you commit to one year. Each year you may opt out or sign up for another year.
Note: You can click on each photo for additional information about a child you are considering for a bit more information.
We invite you to join us in praying for the lives of these children and their sponsors for this school year.
