Investing in Families 2021: Your Impact

The Heartline Maternity Center provides expectant mothers in Haiti with a full prenatal program, labor and delivery services with certified midwives and nurses, and a six-month postpartum program of weekly medical care, child development education, and breastfeeding support.

  • 125 healthy babies born in 2021.
  • Average of 125 women in prenatal and postpartum care at any given time. 
  • Accepted 148 new clients into the program this year!
  • 98% of all care provided by Haitian midwives.
  • 898 women received medical care and education.
  • Opened The Starting Place in Temple, TX
    • Welcomed 5 healthy babies in 2021!
  • The Maternity Center employs 20 Haitian men and women.

Heartline’s Economic Empowerment programs teach essential income-generating skills – empowering Haitian men and women to pursue their dreams, provide for their families, and build a brighter future for their communities. Additionally, the Heartline Savings Group continues to grow, teaching financial acumen and accountability to its members.

  • 262 students enrolled at the Heartline Education Center.
  • Added a new building in 2021, increasing overall capacity adding classrooms and offices.
  • 45 employed on the main campus with an additional 2 employed off-site
    • When added to the Maternity Center staff – that’s 67 Haitian men and women employed by Heartline in Haiti!
  • Two additional organizations call the Heartline Education and Employment Campus home. They are Petite Palm and Papillon Marketplace. Together, they employ well over 100 additional Haitian men and women!

The Community Outreach team ministers with lonely prisoners, children with disabilities, children living in extreme material poverty, and aging adults. Outreach ministry includes sharing bread baked at the Heartline bakery, evangelism, worship, and prayer, and developing personal relationships to communicate love and the dignity of each person.

  • Visited over 1,200 prisoners each week through our discipleship and outreach ministry. Youth, Men, and Women. 
  • Served over 350 aging adults weekly in one of Haiti’s only facilities focused on their long-term care.
  • Celebrated another year of loving and mentoring the children of Mephibosheth House through weekly visits. Mephibosheth House is home to 35 children with varying physical and developmental needs.
  • Ministered to migrant children repatriated to Haiti after large scale deportations occurred from the US in mid-2021.

Children’s Education not only impacts the life of a child today but also has the power to catalyze lasting transformation for individuals, families, and communities in Haiti.

  • 79 students currently enrolled in partner schools located in Corail and near the village of Citè Soleil, Haiti. 
    • 40 students near Citè Soleil 
    • 39 students in Corail 
  • 89% pass rate among students moving to the next grade level. 
  • Established a scholarship for students beyond secondary school seeking university, trade, or another career path.
